At Future Engineers Club, we believe that all students should have an equal opportunity to education regardless of identity, race, gender, ethnicity, origin, and residence, among many other things. For that reason, we aim to make engineering an experience that is accessible and inclusive to all students of diverse backgrounds.

  • Provide virtual programs for students living in locations with mobility challenges

  • Work to supply materials to underprivileged communities and students

  • Promote diverse leadership and decision-making roles within the organization.

  • Host workshops, panels, or speaker events focused on diversity and inclusion in engineering and research

  • Regularly evaluate and adjust programs to ensure they effectively promote diversity

  • Organize team-based activities that build trust, communication, and mutual respect among students from diverse backgrounds

  • Create events, challenges, and competitions that specifically target underrepresented groups in STEM, such as women and minorities

  • Partner with schools, community centers, and organizations in underserved areas

  • Connect with groups representing racial, ethnic, and socio-economic diversity for outreach

  • Design programs that accommodate students of all backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles

  • Encourage innovative problem-solving and creative thinking in all activities and projects

MEMBER EXPECTATIONS

  • Actively participate in meetings, workshops, and events to support the FEC mission

  • Promote a welcoming and supportive environment for all students, regardless of background or skill level

  • Maintain inclusive, respectful, and prompt communication at all times

  • Represent FEC positively within your school, community, and during events

  • Step into leadership roles and mentor others when opportunities arise

  • Support a welcoming atmosphere that fosters growth and learning for all participants

  • Work to identify and address systemic barriers that hinder access to engineering education

  • Honesty, transparency, and ethical behavior are expected in all interactions and activities
